Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law has joined techUK and recently provided an update on the UK’s immigration changes for 2024 and how they are set to affect Britain’s tech employers.
The UK Government has announced a package of legislation to reduce immigration to the UK which is likely to hit many firms employing non-resident tech talent to fill skills gaps. These changes will have a significant effect on salaries those sponsoring staff on a Skilled Worker visa will have to pay.
For example, there is a current shortage of programmers and software developers in the UK. They can be sponsored on Skilled Worker visas so long as they are paid a minimum of £27,200. From 4 April, with higher wage thresholds and no Shortage Occupation List, new programmers applying for the visa would have to be paid a new going rate in the region of £49,400. (You can find more details here.)
Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law’s Eralda Shullazi, Ben Gelblum, Anushka Sinha and Vanessa Ganguin will be at Tech Show London this week if you would like to discuss immigration solutions for UK tech firms, innovators, start-ups, companies moving into the UK, tech talent, innovators, founders and their families too.
We have a wealth of experience when it comes to UK immigration routes such as the Global Talent visa, Skilled Worker and Scale Up sponsor licences, the Expansion Worker immigration route as well as the new Innovator Founder visa.
