Ross brings over a decade of advising corporates and individuals and a proven track record of practice-leading immigration nous to the firm.
He has built a reputation for himself as a safe pair of hands across the wide range of challenges of personal and business immigration.
After leaving the Civil Service, Ross was previously Practice Manager and a senior at two immigration firms of global repute before joining Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law in 2021. Ross has a wealth of experience working with corporate clients of all sizes, from start-ups, SMEs and charitable or religious organisations to large multinational companies.
He regularly advises on applications for licences to sponsor skilled workers (including on UKVI compliance requirements, mergers, restructuring and TUPE, as well as training HR teams) and assists with visa applications for skilled workers, temporary workers, sole representatives, as well as creative and sports personalities. He also advises private clients on personal applications, from high net worth and highly skilled clients to family, UK ancestry and British citizenship.
Ross is a regular participant of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) Economic Migration Working Group and a contributing author for Lexis PSL.
James is an Associate Solicitor who has worked on hundreds of immigration cases since he began advising clients on wide-ranging immigration law issues. These have included sponsor licence applications, complex family migration, British nationality law, and post Brexit settlement rights for European nationals.
James has experience of advising the sports industry, the charity sector and local authorities among other sectors on immigration and sponsorship related issues.
He is also adept at handling human rights and asylum issues, and has led many cases in both the First Tier Tribunal and Upper Tier Tribunal, as well as having worked on cases in the the High Court and Administrative Court.
James has a wealth of experience in dealing with hard won immigration law matters, and is driven to fight relentlessly for each and every client, no matter how challenging or difficult the legal issue at hand.
Prior to joining Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law, James worked as a solicitor at another leading London-based law firm, also highly regarded by both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 for personal immigration law.
Associate Solicitor Roberta has worked alongside Vanessa Ganguin for four years now on all areas of immigration law, corporate and private, helping a wide range of clients choose their best immigration route into the UK.
Roberta is currently working with a broad spectrum of businesses, preparing their sponsor licences for the UK’s new points-based immigration system.
After completing her law degree in London, Roberta completed the Generalist Advice Course at the Citizens Advice Bureau where she provided general advice on various legal matters. Roberta also provided advice at the University of Law’s Legal Advice Centre while on the Legal Practice Course.
Following completion of the Legal Practice Course, Roberta trained as a Solicitor at Ganguin Samartin where she assisted the firm’s solicitors with all immigration matters, business, private and nationality. Having been admitted to the Solicitors Roll, Roberta continues to work closely with Vanessa Ganguin at Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law.
Roberta believes that everyone should have a voice and equal access to justice regardless of their socio-economic background. Practising law allows her to have an active role in making this a reality.
Dean has joined Vanessa at Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law, having worked alongside her at Ganguin Samartin, developing a skillset across the spectrum of corporate and private immigration matters.
Dean is particularly adept at the growing Global Talent immigration route into the UK for categories such as creatives, tech innovators, researchers and academics. He also works with a wide range of corporates from SMEs to household brands on sponsor licences – another increasingly important area, post-Brexit.
Prior to his career in immigration law, Dean competed as a triple jump athlete for the Great Britain junior athletics team and ranked in the UK’s top ten across several age groups.
He had his first insight into immigration law while working as a Student Immigration and Advice Assistant at UCL, and while working full time as a paralegal achieved a distinction in his LLM Legal Practice Course. Dean enjoys working over the breadth of the Immigration Rules and using them to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
Léa has a solid understanding of the sponsor licence process and the duties sponsors must fulfil as well as Global Talent visa applications.
She also has experience working on human rights appeals and asylum applications, as well as cases involving sensitive and complex immigration histories.
Léa is a native French speaker and a keen linguist. She is also fluent in Spanish and has started learning Arabic.
Léa developed a keen interest in issues faced by EU citizens in the face of Brexit and the EU Settlement Scheme through her volunteering work. Prior to her career in immigration law, Léa completed her LLB with First Class Honours at Durham University and worked on several campaigns to raise awareness about FGM, honour-based violence and forced marriages with the HALO pro bono project. Léa continues to be passionate about human rights.
