James Lamont advises private individuals and businesses on all areas of immigration and nationality law. He has successfully advised a broad range of business sectors including tech, finance, entertainment and education.

For private clients, James provides advice ranging from highly complex and unusual applications requiring discretion from the Home Office to integrated global mobility projects for family offices and high net worth clients, including elements of business immigration law where applicable.

For business clients, James provides advice and training to businesses for both complex and routine matters arising under the various sponsored work, Visitor and EU Settlement Scheme rules, and always engaging his knowledge across the full range of immigration law to provide the best solutions for business clients and their employees.

James trained and qualified as a solicitor at a full-service international law firm in the City of London in 2021, providing tailored immigration and nationality advice to all kinds of clients in a highly banded practice.  Prior to this, James acquired an undergraduate MA in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh and completed his Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London Bloomsbury.

James is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association and has worked in the past with the European Lawyers in Lesvos Greece Pro-Bono Collaborative.

James spends his spare time running after his toddler, who leaves little time for anything else.
